Happy Anniversary!

My husband and I just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary last week. Yay! When we got married, we wanted to cut back on our expenses and save money. I contributed by deciding that I would use up the shower gel I had been given over the years, before I bought more. And you know what? I still haven’t used it all up, yet!

I didn’t have an absurd amount or anything. It wasn’t overflowing from containers under the sink. But I certainly had more than I thought, and it has lasted much longer than I would have imagined. Truthfully, I have donated 2 bottles over the course of this experience. I’m just not a fruity type of girl, nor do I want to walk around smelling like chocolate. However, for the most part, I have been using up what I already have.

Try it yourself! What do you have in absurd abundance, yet don’t use regularly? See how long it takes you to use up your stockpile, and then let me know. I’d love to hear about it!

I purchased 1 package with two paper towel rolls over a year ago and I still have one full roll plus 1/2 of the other roll left. My MIL insists on wiping the inside of the turkey at Christmas time with paper towels. That is the only reason I purchase them, the rest of the time I use dishcloths.

We’ve gone through our over abundance of paper towels with our new dog. He’s learning quickly, but accidents still happen ;)

      • I use paper towels to clean out the insides of peanut butter jars, butter dishes, roast pans, etc. Anything with a greasy residue that will go down our pipes! No dogs, no MIL! As peanut butter is a mainstay around here, we go through a roll of towels about every 3 months?
